Fuel Assistance
When cold weather approaches, many low income residents find themselves unable to pay their heating bills. Wellesley Friendly Aid processes applications for those residents under age 60 for the SMOC Fuel Assistance Program, which pays a portion of heating costs. (The Council on Aging processes applications for residents age 60 and older.) Eligibility is based on total gross household income and the number of people in the household.
Contact the Friendly Aid office to obtain an application and set up an interview with the Program Administrator. We also help residents apply for SNAP (food stamp) benefits.
