Neighbors Helping Neighbors

Wellesley Friendly Aid Association, a community-based non-profit organization, serves Wellesley residents in need through programs that provide direct service or financial assistance.  WFA’s wide range of programs helps individuals and families of all incomes and ages having needs that government and other private programs fail to meet.  WFA provides services both directly and in collaboration with other organizations and agencies.

Although Wellesley has a reputation as an affluent town, reality can be quite different for some of our residents, including those living in public or affordable housing.

Our programs for low income families include:

► Providing scholarships for children to attend camp - 65 in 2023!
► Through Wellesley Connects, providing Wellesley High School juniors with guidance and educational support to assist with the college application process
► Distributing grocery gift cards for holiday meals at Thanksgiving
► Granting financial aid in critical situations
► Helping to complete applications for fuel assistance

Other programs that serve all residents, regardless of income, include:

► Lending medical equipment free of charge
► Hosting Friendship Circle, a social group for senior women
► Supporting ESL programs

All of our volunteers are Wellesley residents.  Almost all our financial support comes from Wellesley residents, businesses and other organizations. We are neighbors helping neighbors.
