Wellesley Helping Hands
Individuals and families can find their worlds suddenly up-ended by an accident, catastrophic event or serious illness. Wellesley Helping Hands is a Friendly Aid program to help residents in distress.
Using a network of local volunteers, we provide temporary, non-medical services to help people cope with their new circumstances until they can get back on their feet. The assistance is given free of charge to Wellesley residents of all income levels and includes:
- Providing meals
- Running errands
- Transportation to and from local medical appointments or grocery stores
- Dog walking
- Performing light housework and yard work
Volunteers sign up to provide assistance as their schedules permit; there is no obligation to give a set number of hours. Some volunteers provide assistance only occasionally while others are available on a more regular basis.
